Award Presented at 2024 Sportfishing Summit in San Diego
The American Sportfishing Association (ASA) proudly announced that Pat Neu, President of the National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA) and seasoned leader in the sportfishing industry, has been awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was presented during the 2024 Sportfishing Summit, held at the Catamaran Resort in San Diego, California.
Pat Neu has long been a driving force in promoting recreational fishing, not only in his leadership role as an ASA member but also through his passion for advancing the sport and supporting conservation efforts. His career, spanning more than five decades, is marked by a deep commitment to ensuring the future of recreational fishing.
“I am honored to have been the recipient of this coveted award as a culmination to my career in the sportfishing industry,” said Neu. “Sportfishing has been my passion since I was a young boy and to have spent over 50 years in this industry has been a dream come true. Being involved with the ASA has allowed me the opportunity to share my experience and passion for the sport in a manner that could make a difference.”

We are proud to present him with this Lifetime Achievement Award.”
Neu’s legacy is characterized by his extensive work in fisheries conservation, public policy advocacy, and building partnerships across the sportfishing industry. He has worked tirelessly to promote policies that protect aquatic resources while supporting the growth of recreational fishing in the United States.
Throughout his career, Neu has been instrumental in supporting the ASA’s goals and working to protect the interests of anglers nationwide. In addition to his current role with NPAA, Neu is also a founding member of the Future Angler Foundation, a non-profit membership organization dedicated to helping grow the sport of fishing through education and outreach.
The Sportfishing Summit, ASA’s annual industry gathering, serves as a platform for leaders to come together, share insights, and address challenges and opportunities facing recreational fishing. This year’s event, held at the Catamaran Resort in San Diego, celebrated the accomplishments of leaders like Pat Neu, whose contributions have made a lasting impact on the industry.
