“Livin’ the ‘Eye Life” Offers a Raw, Real Look at Pro Walleye Fishing with Corey Heiser

CROOKSTON, MN — A new video series is giving the walleye fishing world a front-row seat to the grit, grind, and glory of life on the National Walleye Tour. “Livin’ the ‘Eye Life,” created by professional angler and NPAA Board Member Corey Heiser, takes fans deep into the day-to-day reality of what it’s like to chase trophies, travel the country, and manage the mental highs and lows of competitive angling.
Developed in collaboration with Chad Koel of Koel Communications, the cinematic series is more than just fishing highlights—it’s a full-access, behind-the-scenes look at the life of a touring pro. From pre-dawn tackle rigging and boat prep to late-night strategy sessions and post-weigh-in reflections, “Livin’ the ‘Eye Life” showcases the dedication, passion, and pressure that define the professional walleye circuit.
“This series is about showing the real side of the sport—the moments most people never get to see,” said Heiser. “The long drives, the problem-solving on the fly, the frustration of a tough bite, and the thrill of figuring it out—it’s all part of the ‘Eye Life.”
A sneak peek of the series debuted May 21 on YouTube and Facebook, drawing strong anticipation. The first full episode, “Mississippi River Pre-fish”, dropped May 24 and has since surpassed 8,200 views on YouTube alone. The episode follows Heiser during the National Walleye Tour stop inLa Crosse, Wisconsin, as he preps and practices on the legendary Mississippi River.
Episode 2, launched just 48 hours ago, is already nearing 4,700 views, featuring Corey in competition alongside fellow traveling partners and anglers Bill Shimota and Jacob Ell. Titled “Mississippi River Tournament”, the episode highlights the intense focus, decision-making, and camaraderie that define tournament days.
